[The Police] My New Obsession.

Okay, you guys. I'm in love.

I am IN LOVE!

Three men, about 60 years old, and I'm like 30 years late, but that's okay because they are perfect.

If you hadn't read the title, I'm talking about The Police. Yes, the famous 80s New Wave band.

I honestly cannot pinpoint when I became obsessed with them but it started at the beginning of the week and I'm pretty sure it was Pandora. I just know that it started with the song Don't Stand So Close To Me and it just spread from there.

First, of course I knew who The Police were prior to this instant obsession. I was actually in love with their song Roxanne about two years ago and I know Every Breath You Take and I know Sting. So I had an inkling of who they were but they never thought to find out anything else.

I think what happened is that they fit my music tastes at the moment. For some reason, I've been listening to a lot of reggae-tinged rock and 80s music. The Police just fit very neatly to both sides.

Oh man, I love them too much. My favorite songs are:
  • Don't Stand So Close To Me
  • Message In A Bottle
  • Can't Stop Loving You
  • Spirits In A Material World
  • Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic
  • The Bed's Too Big Without You
There's probably more that I can't think of right now. I think I love Message In A Bottle the most. I love listening to Every Little The She Does Is Magic in the morning. It's the best good-feeling song. And the rest of them are all too lovely.

Their songs give me nostalgic feelings. And it's weird because I wasn't around in the 80s. How can I have nostalgic feelings for a time I've never experienced? I think I figured it out today. It's not that they give me a nostalgic feeling for the 80s. It's more like they give me nostalgic feelings of my childhood when my dad used to play a lot of his 70s and 80s music. I guess they were reggae songs. I'm not sure what style you would call them. But the guitar and bass melodies are similar and ugh, they give me the good feelings.

And The Police aren't just "reggae", I mean, they're basically a rock band. Nostalgia plus my favorite genre, rock. It's like a perfection smoothie!

Not only are they great musicians, they're also pretty attractive. (I mean, when they were younger)

I could talk about all of them but I came home from school and I'm tired so I'll just briefly say this:

Steward Copeland is such a fun out-going guy. From what I know, he's pretty talkative and you can tell he loves music the way he can just talk about it. I'm not sure what I like about him, but I think it's his eyes and smile.

Andy Summers is more of the quiet guy, from what I know. Not shy, just not talkative. To me, he probably has the best style in the group. It's not like high-fashion, unique style. But it just looks cool and he just looks all together, cool and cute. Sometimes, I wish I was a guy so I could dress like him.

Now Sting. Ahh... STING. When I first saw him, I thought he had pretty severe features. But in a way, they're very attractive. After watching Don't Stand Too Close To Me, I had this strong desire for having an affair with a teacher who was very much like Sting. I've already established myself as a reverse-pedophile earlier this week so yeah... I've accepted it. I thought he looked especially cute in Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic.

So yeah, I'll end it here. Love these guys. I just LOVE them. If anyone wants to buy me a The Police shirt, I'll love you forever and I'll marry you.
