What's up, you guys?
I really don't know how to get into this.
If you've been watching the news, you would've known that a hurricane named Sandy had blown through the East Coast and that the whole East Coast was going CRAZY. Yeah, we totally survived though. Our lights didn't even go off. I mean, it went out for like a few seconds and came right on. But other than that, it wasn't even that bad. At least in my area.
But they canceled school for today. We already had a day off on Monday but we had another one today. So I'm so happy about that. But on the other hand, I have a whole bunch of homework that I procrastinated on: an essay to write, math problems to do, notes to take, and probably some other stuff I forgot about.
There's a lot of stuff that I could ramble about and at the same time, that stuff seems so meaningless to ramble about.
So um, I just finished a book called Quarantine: The Loners. I can't tell if I liked the book or not. The idea of the book and a lot of parts of the book were really good and interesting. The book centers around two brothers, one who used to be like a popular Varsity football player or whatever, and his brother who has seizures. In some mountain somewhere, some scientists were experimenting on a bunch of teenagers and giving them viruses. Then one of the kids escaped and ran into the high school and infected all the teenagers with the virus. Only teenagers can get the virus and be immune to it so all the teachers and faculty had blood spewing out of their lungs and mouths and died. The high school was locked up so that none of the kids could get out. And that's when it got crazy. Food was dropped every few weeks for the kids and it was like war to get some food. The school split up into their own armies: The Geeks, The Nerds, The Freaks, The Skaters, The Sluts, The Pretty Ones, and the Varsity. The Varsity and The Pretty Ones are pretty much one group.
Then there were the others who didn't have a group for themselves which included the two brothers. And one day, after some girl was about to get raped, the older brother killed the rapist and then he was deemed a leader to all the people with no groups. And they formed their own group called The Loners.
Now I'm not going to get into details but there was a bunch of romance and stuff between the two brothers and the girl that got raped. Man, that was freaking annoying. The authors were obviously men who had no idea how girls worked. I mean, they got close in some parts. But in other parts, they obviously just molded some of the characters to their own fantasies. Ugh. The brothers seemed to only like the girl for her beauty. I mean, she was kind and cool and stuff but nothing to really fight over.
And then the ENDING! Oh man, that annoyed me to no end. I didn't even understand what happened. So one of the brothers escape, and then after a day or something, a group of kids get into the school giving the locked up students food. And it seemed like they were getting saved. And in the last few lines, apparently the leader of the Varsity groups ask the savior girl for one of her guns. Then the book ends and tells me that there's a sequel.
How the heck could there be a sequel to that? Actually, I was expecting a Lord of the Flies ending where everyone stops being savages and cries that they're finally free. And that's the end. I would've liked that ending even if it totally copied The Lord of the Flies.
I might just read the sequel to see what it's all about. But I'm afraid that's it gonna be totally dumb.
I should probably go eat breakfast now. Apparently, my cheeks are getting fatter and I'm afraid to eat in fear of eating the entire food supply in the kitchen. I also didn't take a shower all day yesterday. So I should probably get to that now.
Oh! Here's something interesting.
You know that t-shirt website, SnorgTees? Well, some months ago, I sent in an idea for a t-shirt design because I heard that if they chose your design, they'll give you a free t-shirt or gift card or something. So I came up with this one: My favorite number in the alphabet is green. Okay, so months after, I actually saw that design (or something similar) on the website. It wasn't any time recent though. I saw it and I was like, "Oh man!" I figured someone probably thought of it before me or something. I don't know.
I kind of forgot about it. But then, like two or three days ago, I was watching a video on YouTube and I look to the side and see and ad for Snorg Tees and the girl is wearing the shirt. And suddenly, I got a bit annoyed. I SENT in this entry. I should've gotten credit for it. So I made up my mind to go on the SnorgTee website and send an angry letter. The message was 3/4 a joke and 1/4 serious.
I said something like, "Oh! I'm going to sue you guys for a million dollars if you don't give me credit for me freaking shirt!" I said some other kiddish weird things in hopes that they'd realize that I was not serious. But they sent a message back to me like, "We get a lot of entries that are the same and we're sorry you didn't get credit for it. But we love when our customers send us amazing ideas so we'll give you a free t-shirt!"
I was shocked that they even replied but guilty because I really don't think I deserve it. They were being too nice. I sent a message back to them apologizing. I was gonna say that I wasn't totally serious about the message but I didn't want them to change their mind about sending me a t-shirt. So yeah, I got the one that says, "Dear Math, Solve Your Own Problems" or something like that. And the guy sent a message back today, saying he's sending it right now.
Do you know how long I've wanted a t-shirt from that place?! And now I'm getting a FREE one?!? I'm siced you guys. Totally, siced. See what immaturity can get you?
