I Don't Really Know What To Talk About So I'll Just Begin.

This week has been a relatively okay week. I had to finish my essay for A Separate Peace for English class and I did an all-nighter (until 1 AM) with my friend as we finished our final drafts.

All you guys who have English essays, I totally recommend that you call your friend up on the phone while you're doing them because it makes the process so much easier and funner. Make sure you choose a serious and not distracted friend, I advise.

I forgot to italicize A Separate Peace in the final draft I handed in on Wednesday so I was so pissed at myself. I hope that she grades the one on TurnItIn.com instead of the paper copy. I hope, I hope.

The book we're reading now is Black Boy. I actually haven't started reading it yet though I really have to. We had a choice of either reading Pride and Prejudice or Black Boy. A lot of people in the class of serious opposition to Pride and Prejudice. I have read it because of my mother (I can get up and get the copy right now). Apparently, she had to read it back when she was in Nigeria. I don't know. It was an easily understandable book. It was okay. But it wasn't my favorite. And I didn't want to read it again because I had already read it and Black Boy just seemed way more appealing to me.

I seriously need to get started on that book though.

Speaking of books, I went to the library today because I had three books that were seriously on my mind this week that I HAD to get.

They were:

  • We Need To Talk About Kevin
  • The Lovely Bones
  • The Perks of Being of Wallflower
If you saw the last post, you could probably figure out why I was really interested in the first and last book. Especially We Need To Talk About Kevin.

So I asked one of the ladies if they had the books We Need To Talk About Kevin and The Lovely Bones. (I figured they should because I looked on the library site to see their availability.) But apparently, only the Kevin book was available so I think someone's lying. But whatever. I got the book that I was actually coming for.

The loveliest thing is that the cover is based on the movie.

And on the back, Ezra Miller's name is on it. I was seriously freaking out in my mind.

I wanted to ask the lady if they had The Perks of Being A Wallflower but I didn't want to bother her again. So I tried to look for it myself with no luck. But it's whatever.

I started reading We Need To Talk About Kevin in the library and some of the language is a little bit more mature and hard for me to read. I think I need a dictionary for some of the words. But I think this is good for me. I've been having a sudden interest in vocabulary these days. Probably because of Ezra Miller. But I think he just advanced my interest because I've been thinking about words in general for a few months now. (SATs!)

I just want to know all the words and sound articulate. Sometimes, I have daydreams of being some famous medical professional who's only in her 20s and sitting down for some TV interview and just having amazing words come out of my mouth. I'd be a woman of a few words but when I do say things, I'd say magnificent things. Yeah, I daydream about that.

The librarian also showed me another book called Testimony by Anita Shreve. I haven't read into the summary in the front of the book but it kind of reminds me of the Afterschool movie (another Ezra reference) so that interested me a lot. And I got that.

So I have a hefty load of books I need to get finished. But I'm happy about that. I'm determined that this week will be a productive one and I have a whole list of things I want to accomplish:
  1. Clean my room.
  2. Study for Pre-Calc Senior Exam.
  3. Finish Chapter 14 Outline for Chemistry.
  4. Community Service.
  5. Eat between 1200-1400 calories this whole week.
  6. Read one chapter of the bible each day.
  7. Read other books.
  8. Get food for the TLC Party.
There's probably more that needs to go on the list. But I made this like two days ago (or 3 since it's already Sunday). And this is what I have in mind. I'm gonna try and cross things out. Try.

I had a Spanish test on Friday and that had to be the hardest Spanish test I have ever taken. There was this listening part where you had to answer questions according to what the lady was saying on the tape. I have never been that good at those. Even back when I was taking German last year. But my German teacher would usually repeat what the person on the tape said, but slower. So that was fine. My Spanish teacher did not do the same so the lady on the tape sounded like she was half-drunk in my ears and slurring and words and stuff.

Then there was this cultural part where we supposed to answer questions based on some reading we did weeks ago. I totally did not study that so I know I missed like two questions of that. I'm probably gonna get my lowest grade on a test in the class EVER. I'm hoping it's a low A or a high B.

But speaking of tests... I got the highest score on a quiz in my Engineering class. Except that was last week. But I was psyched. I haven't been feeling as smart as I used to. I know I'm not the smartest in my class. But there was a time when I used to be. It's like a huge demotion to me. And though I didn't get the highest score out of all the kids who took the test, I got the highest IN MY CLASS. :D And it was an A too.

On the other hand, I failed my Chemistry quiz. Not having my glasses really affects my productivity in class. I'm still annoyed that my bag was stolen. Mind you.

I've been pretty into Red Hot Chili Peppers these days. Especially the song Can't Stop. That song is freakin' amazing. I love the guitar the most. It's so good. LISTEN TO IT!

Snow by RHCP is good too.
