The Mainstream In My Bloodstream.

I've been meaning to make this post for awhile. And I'm just getting around to it now. Honestly, I just want to sleep right now. Read Lovely Bones and sleep.

So I noticed that lately, there have been several mainstream songs that I actually... like. I would never put it on my mp3 player or anything, but when it comes up on the radio, I am bumping. They are my guilty pleasures. I would never put it on my mp3 player because I figure that I will end up hearing the songs so much everywhere else that there's really no point.

So here's a list of the mainstream in my bloodstream.

  1. Boyfriend by Justin Bieber
  2. Where Have You Been by Rihanna
  3. Chasing The Sun by The Wanted
  4. Let's Go by Calvin Harris ft. Ne-Yo (I actually like most songs by Ne-Yo. :P)
  5. Mirror by Lil' Wayne ft. Bruno Mars
  6. Bad Girls by M.I.A.
I guess I could give an explanation for each. But nah... For the most part, all the songs have a nice beat. I guess because it's summer, I'm just more happier. I noticed that during the school, I tended to like moodier and darker songs. It's because I'm never genuinely happy to go to school. So that makes sense.

But I have been digging the 90s music. There are two songs in particular that I've been really liking:
  • What I Got by Sublime
  • Jeremy by Pearl Jam
I seriously thought that the chorus of Jeremy, went something like, "Tell me more than aaahhhhhh today." Instead of, "Jeremy spoke in class today."

I'm so dumb.

And when I first showed my sister What I Got, she was totally going on the song. I felt offended. It's not something I would normally listen to, honestly. It starts out with a twangy guitar and a nice chillax beat in the back. The song is about loving what you have. I'm pretty sure. And the music fits perfectly to the lyrics in everyway and I just love it. It's a good message. There's too many win.
