Dorm Inspo.

So we had a two-hour delay, which means I was in school for a little more than an hour and then I went to internship. Tomorrow, we're having another two-hour delay but it doesn't matter because I'm having my RP day.

Ugh, I really just wanted to take an entire school day off just so I can gloat that I took a WHOLE day of school off while everyone had to go. BUT NO. I don't get that liberty.

This week did not happen. We basically had two winter breaks.

Oh, I got an e-mail from Howard. They gave me some Capstone scholarship... Paid for my entire tuition, room, and fees (whatever that may be). Which is great... If I was going to that school. In reality, I should be getting a bigger scholarship because of my SAT scores but I really do not want to go to that school. I wish I could transfer the scholarship to Temple.

I don't know why I'm being so pissy about going to a school with a majority of black people. It's not me. And I don't want to. But when I think about it, it's a school that makes sense. They have a medical school that I could get into. They're basically paying for almost everything. The school is located not too far from home, in a city that I like (yes, I love DC) and am kind of familiar with.

It actually makes SO much sense. But I just don't wanna go to a school with a lot of black people... I don't know what's with me.

Okay, I didn't want to moan about anything today(or tonight?). During my second winter break, I was looking at pictures of dorms for inspiration and I just wanted to post them and stuff.

Here we go.

So the theme that I think I want to go for is a midnight-like theme. The color scheme would be black, dark blue, deep purple, and red. Or instead of red, fuschia. The stuff on my walls would mostly be band posters and collages of family and friends. I have one artwork that I've done that would fit the room I'm thinking of. And here's some pictures I saw on Tumblr that I would probably utilize.

I really liked the bedding on this picture. I'm weary of the white because I'm such a klutz but I like it's simplicity. The stripes are so me. Maybe instead of pink and purple pillows, I would use black and red.
Okay, so I know my bathroom will most likely not look like this but I saved it anyways because I liked the organization of it. I might be able to use it, maybe not. Maybe when I get an apartment, this will be useful. But I thought this was cute so yah.

The bedding here is too girly for my likes. But I liked the mix of patterns with the pillows. But knowing me, the amount of pillows would get annoying very quickly.

Actually, what I liked about this picture was the words on the wall. Evidently, the letters were cut out from pages in a magazine. I would definitely do this. I think it's so cute and takes up a bunch of prison wall space if I get a dorm with walls like that. I probably wouldn't use the phrase, "Follow Your Dreams". But the idea of this is what I like.

I really liked the checkerboard arrangement of the pictures in this dorm room. Now that I think about it, I probably won't bring that many pictures like that. It'll be a lot of printing and re-sizing and I don't wanna deal with that. But it's a cool idea. I might utilize it. Who knows?

I liked how the cork board looked and the black frames. It's very me, especially with that blue accent on the calendar. Instead of the green and white chevron pattern, I would probably do a dark blue and white pattern or dark purple and white pattern. I'm kinda iffy about dry-erase stuff because I never use them. But the idea is really cool and it's a nice piece to go on the wall to cover up the prison-like walls that some dorms have.

I thought the lights looked really cool. I think it would be a cute holiday decoration thing but I think I would get annoyed with lights hanging like that from the wall. I also like how spacious the dorm room looks. The pictures and videos of dorms that I often see look so cluttered but this looks a little less
claustrophobic.

So this is useful to me in no way. But this his is basically what my dream dorm would look like. Of course, the walls of real dorms do not come painted. They do not come with modern asymmetrical book shelves. And the bunk beds do not look like this. But they SHOULD. The idea is really innovative and cool. I mean, it looks nice and look at all the space you save! With the closet underneath the bunk bed and the desk above more storage space. You can have an actual living room space if you wanted to. This type of dorm would probably be problematic for taller folks but for me, it looks perfect.
I liked this dorm room because of the quote on the walls. I want to get those. I wonder where you get them from.

Now that I'm looking at this deeper, I really like the CO-EXIST sign and the bedding arrangement is nice. I'm not a big fan of orange but I like orange and blue together and I just like how the bed looks.
This dorm picture may look simple but several things actually caught my eye when I saw this. First of all, the bedding is so me. It's very simplistic. It has the red and black AND midnight color scheme that I'm going for. I would probably do a little more in terms of pillows. Maybe get one more accent pillow, though I'm not sure what else would fit.

Second, I like the arrangement of the pictures behind the bed. Very clean looking.

Third, the white drapes are so lovely. I wonder how that was done. I love it.

But those cinder block walls get me.
Okay, so I really liked this picture for the bed. Again, the white still makes me weary. But it's perfect. Very simple but cute. I especially love the triangle pillow. I think the walls could use more work, I guess. The "don't stay in bed" poster screams Tumblr to me so I don't like it but it's whatever. The room also has the claustrophobic look to it that I was talking about.

I shouldn't hate on it so much because this is most likely what my dorm will end up looking like in the end but yeah...

The bedding is what I love the most. Moving on.
So this is the last of my dorm inspo. (I'm still searching for stuff and I'll update if I get tons of new pictures.) But this one I loved because of the arrangement of the picture in a WAVE. And how all the pictures (or mostly all of them), have surfing in it. It doesn't fit my Midnight theme and this looks to tedious to do but it's so cute. I LAHVE it.

That's it for now. I'm acting like I don't have somewhere to go tomorrow when I do. I thought I was gonna exchange my sweater but I realized that there's no H&M near me. Maybe I can get my dad to let me use some money to buy myself some shiz. But if I do get money, it would be smarter of me to save it for my book money.

I should just take the tags off and wear my stupid gray hoodie it as it is. -_- Ugh.

Okay... Bye.
