FYI: "So ein pest" is German for like, "What a pest!" I think it has something to do with the bubonic plague. I read that somewhere. Or maybe it was a different German phrase. IDK.
This would be so awkward if someone I knew was reading this blog.
Okay, so my German teacher split our class up into groups and we were to make a board game for our Chapter Test instead of doing an actual test. We were learning about Munchen or Munich if you wanna be American about it. And we were just learning directions and tourist places in Munchen.
I still don't totally understand that chapter and I usually understand and remember stuff pretty quickly. But ah well. I also lost all my German material since I lost my main folder. That kinda messed me up a whole lot in a lot of my classes since I lost a lot of work.
Okay, so back to the board game. At first, I had NO idea about what I was gonna do. Then suddenly all these ideas began pouring in. But the partner I had was so defiant and lazy. I kept spurting out my ideas and he was like, "No. That's too much work." and kept looking at me like I was an idiot. He even twitched his eye a few times. Let's call him Leo.
So Leo is this totally weird dude that's in my class. EVERYONE thinks he's weird. Because HE IS. Everyone (except these two dudes that he's friends with) are afraid to work with Leo. He says the most randomest stuff. He tries to make himself seem poor by saying that he only buys the fake generic cereal and that he lives in a box. And when we were asking where we could get a board from, he started twitching as was like, "I know where to get a lot of boxes from." In a creepy way.
And then I brought my markers in and he sat there getting high off of the nice-smelling ones. Seriously. He got three of them and just brought them to his nose and sniffed. He went around the room trying to get people to smell them too.
Leo is so freakin' weird. I DO NOT wanna work with him again.
So I told everyone that I would make the actual board because I'm like that. I like to do the creative, artistic parts. Everyone else was in charge of doing the german question cards that go with out board game.
I worked for hours until 11:00 PM starting at 6:00 PM, finishing the board game. I had my Linkin Park and my Three Days Grace blasting on our main stereo (that's the best place to play music in my house). And I was totally zoned out.
When I was done, I had mixed feelings about the project. So the board game was shaped like an M for Munchen. And you're pretty much a tourist trying to get from the hotel to the Rathaus (town hall) Every corner of the M had a place on it. The squares that you landed on gave you directions to either move forward or move back or something. I randomly put directions everywhere without thinking how the person could actually win. And some squares you had to pick a card. I wrote all of this English. Then I remembered that there was to be absolutely NO English on the board. So right next to the squares, I wrote the directions in German. (In really poor simplified German because I didn't know how to say, Move forward 5 squares, in German without using Google translate.) So instead it said, Geh funf. Which means Go 5. :| I know... And for Move back 2 spaces. I put Zuruck zwei which is Back 2.
I got my group member to buy a huge board so I had to somehow fill out all the white space so that it looked nice.
I drew a girl in a Kino (The movie theater) eating popcorn and I drew an Amerikaner walking past an Imbisstube, taking photographs. But my Imbisstube (snack bar) was lopsided. I drew a big building with some sexy bricks. I was proud of that. And since our teacher said we had to incorporate some other Munchen-y and German stuff in there, I started going crazy. I drew a penguin behind a bush and labeled in Pinguine. I put Munchen Zoo on top since we discussed that in class.
I drew a picture of someone asking for directions and the other person was like, "Ja, nach rechts" or something. I pasted a photo of a bank and put dollar signs around it. That's when I realized the Germans used Euros.
So the board was a whole bunch of fail hidden behind pretty drawings. But I wasn't really satisfied since my Imbisstube didn't come out right. It bothered me so much that I began working more on it the following morning.
But everyone liked it. My German teacher even forgot about how bad it followed the criteria and was mesmerized by how nice it looked. See? That's what I do. As long as it looks nice, no one really cares too much about the material. They say they do and they probably do, but having it look extra nice (even if doesn't have to) makes your grade a whole lot better.
Remember my German class crush? I can't remember if I even mentioned him here and if I did, I don't know if I gave him a fake name. But I'm gonna call him Ricardo.
Ricardo came up to my board and commented on it saying it was a really nice board or something like that. It was a sweet comment that's all I know. I (along with my other group member) had to explain how our game worked and let's just say, I had no idea. In fact, we didn't even have dice for a good while.
So Ricardo and another girl named... "Hilary", played the game. That's the first time I saw it being played. And we just went along with whatever happened. It was pretty funny though. Ricardo is a cool dude, you know.
That reminds me, I had a dream about him this morning. (Do you guys have those dreams that occur right before you wake up in the morning? They're not at night time but in the morning.)
It was weird. (All my dreams are weird actually.) We were walking somewhere. It was a public place because there was a lot of people everywhere. I think it was a mall or something. I don't remember questioning where we were going. I think I had an idea but then I don't remember. So Ricardo gets ahead and a crowd of people block my way. The crowd cleared and Ricardo had stopped and went back to get me. He put his hand on my shoulder and pulled me along. The hand on the shoulder thing stands out the most even though it was a romantic hand-on-the-shoulder thing. It was one of those touches that girls in those sketchy-chick flicks always freak out over when it was actually nothing.
Then I remember Ricardo hugs this girl. It's a pretty 10th grader girl that I recognize from one of my classes. I can't remember which one it was though but the ones I have in mind both have the same name as me which is very VERY ironic. And I just realized it now.
So then we sit down at a table in a cafe. The cafe is yellow. And it's pretty awkward since we're not having a conversation. And then, that's all I remember. I'm pretty sure there's some more details. And we did talk a few times but I don't remember what. Dreams are so weird.
I once read somewhere that when you dream about someone, that same person is dreaming or thinking about you. If that was true, then it would be totally awesome.
I had a tennis match yesterday against the one and only, Martha Washington. The only reason I went was because I thought I would see my peoples there. Plus, it was Friday and I had nothing better to do. If I went home, I would just eat. In fact, by the time we got there by bus, kids were still just getting out. (My school ends early at 2:30 PM.) But we didn't actually play at the school. We played at the tennis courts right across from the school.
I still saw kids walking down. I was hoping to see my old friend Toasty but I didn't. I didn't see anyone I knew actually.
Washington was a very funny bunch and by funny I don't mean ha ha funny, I mean weird funny. First, the team looked young. I think the majority of them were either freshmen or sophomore. In fact, their #1 single boy's player was a freshmen. Do you know how unbelievable that is? Very. Especially when our #1 singles guy is a senior.
And then one of the dudes that I remember seeing at the Science & Tech orientation thingy did some kinda juju on my friend. (Oh btw. I wrote about this same dude saying he was kinda cute. NEVER MIND.) The guy went up to my friend and was like, "Hey I was dared to hug you but I don't wanna do that and for the sake of the dare, can you just dab me?"
But that's not what we heard. I only heard the I don't wanna hug you part. So then we both got scared. I said that he probably did some Indian Black Magic on him. Then another dude on our team who overhead clarified things and told us what he actually said. I was a little more relieved but still...
Later that day, after my friend lost his match, he told me that his hand began to hurt once he got on the court.
I knew it.
And then this girl, let's call her Melonie. Well, she's a sweet and absolutely cool 10th grader. But she has her own swag okay. When she's about to serve, she has this little routine that she does. I don't know if someone taught her that or if it's a cheerleader thing but she does it, and it's kinda funny. I've laughed at it a few times. And I feel a little bad about it since it actually works. But that doesn't give the Wash the audacity to laugh. They aren't allowed to. I wanted to go up to them and tell them off. But I didn't.
Those bushy headed mixed and white children.
But I'm not gonna lie, some of those white dudes on their team were cute. But I took it off my mind since they were the ENEMY.
Oh and the coach let me play a game. It made me realize that I LOVE tennis A LOT. I was played against these two girls who really were not that good at all. But we still lost against them 3-6.
I blame my serves and my other team-mate's. Plus, she was catching her balls. I don't wanna blame her too much since she doesn't really get to practice with us a lot. But there really wasn't anyone else. So yeah. But my hitting was awesome. Every time the ball actually got served right, I hit every single one of them and got a point for my team.
And I got a hang of the serving. In fact, at one point in the game, I was getting every single serve in, and that's what brought out points up.
The fact that we lost doesn't bother me that much actually. But I wanna play them again. Perhaps with a different team mate. If not, it doesn't matter. But I wanna play them again so badly. No. Scratch that. I wanna play period. I've been thinking about tennis all day. I wanna go to tennis camp. I wanna work more on my serve. I wanna be like Serena Williams.
This post is gonna be super duper long.... Meh. GOOOOO! Then Leave us ALONE. That's Black Veil Brides for you.
