It's crazy how fast this week seems to be going now. It's Thursday!? Wahhh?
Today was Orientation Day at all the schools in my county and as I've mentioned before, I was a volunteer for NHS. It was actually pretty nice. I think the summer did some people good (or maybe it's just me) because everyone and everything was just good and chill.
I did a whole bunch of nothing though. When I came in, no one was really doing anything. Freshmen were coming into the cafeteria and they had to go to the table that corresponded to the first letter of their last name and then find their schedule. I signed in and then I found myself in charge of the O schedules and of course, those were most of the African last names. I seemed to get most of the sweet freshmen too so I was cool with it.
And then, there were seriously a few BABIES walking around with freshman schedules. No. Like, they couldn't be any older than like 10. They were so tiny and small and cute. It probably sucked for them that all the seniors kept staring and cooing as they walked by. It's gonna be sucky when school starts and the hallways are filled with huge sophomores, juniors, and seniors.
After, we were supposed to walk around the halls, providing assistance to freshmen who couldn't find the room numbers they were supposed to be in. I was with a group of three other girls and all we did was talk about senior things like college and stuff. And since there were already so many other upperclassmen in the hallways already helping out with that (athletes, cheerleaders, step teams, along with NHS members), my friends and I just got our own sh** done like visiting counselors, fixing schedules, checking volunteer hours and seeing teachers for recommendation letters.
So yeah, it was pretty chill.
I took a school bus to the mall where I bought a pair of earphones for school. I usually buy my earphones at Big Lots but there selection was slacking. I picked out a pair of yellow and orange ones. They aren't my style but I kind of like their quirkiness so they'll do.
The plan tomorrow is to go to Wheaton FINALLY and buy my clothes for school. I'm gonna end up going by myself sadly. Before that, I'll go to school for a few hours for more volunteering.
Now I have to finish my portfolio and my logbook. SO I MUST LEAVE.
