The 6th Grade Dunce

I went to church today and I committed some sins before and after church that I don't wanna talk about. I don't know why I'm so icky. But I am.

My friend told me about this Christian Club that's at my school called TLC and I went to the interest meeting earlier this week. I kinda went for the school, kinda went for the Christianity aspect, but a little more for the food. So I didn't stick around. And that was because we had class meeting. But next time we go, I'm gonna stick around. Or I'll try. Maybe the week after, I'll stick around. It's gonna be a busy week because of Spirit Week. My mind is boggling because of Spirit Week.

But yeah, the Christian Club... I went and ate and played a game for a few seconds. And when I left, they were totally nice. So I wanna go back. I'm not sure exactly what they do there. I need to ask my friend. But I'm gonna keep going to the meetings. Which I think are on Wednesdays. And then I have Literary Magazine on Tuesdays.

And I'm also planning to join the Tech team for this play at my school.

Yeah, I'm gonna be busy. But I wanna be. In my old school, I did practically nothing until I did Tennis in the Spring. That's it. My old school could be a really good school if people actually came out to do stuff. No one really does anything except for sports, cheerleading, and the model club (which was actually very popular at our school). That's why my new school, Washington, is different. The students are very active and eager about starting new clubs. You always hear about a new club on the announcements. Picnic was different. If there was a club, no one would know about it, or no one would care. Or at least no one would join.

I wish I could just go to Picnic and just change everything and be pro-active. That school has the potential to be a good school. All schools have the potential to be a good school. The students aren't doing anything so the teachers feel they don't have to do anything either. Picnic doesn't have class meetings. No one has any spirit. I don't remember even having a pep rally.

Okay. So I got soo off-topic. What I was gonna mention was that I was at church and for some reason, I can never focus on the sermon when I'm at church. I get so sleepy and drift out of consciousness and I start thinking about the weirdest things. I can't remember everything but I particularly remembering this boy in my 6th grade class.

He was a new kid. And he was one of those new kids who show up and the whole chemistry of the school goes in disarray.

First of all, he was humongous. He was big and fat. I don't like calling people fat, but that's what he was. He was heavy and huge. Second of all, he was white. I don't remember having any white kids in the whole 6th grade. Nope. I don't think there was any. The last white kid in our grade left after 4th grade.

His name was Michael, btw. No need for changing his name either. That was his actual name.

The guys in my class were SO nice though. They sat with him in music class and tried to get him to join their games and stuff. But the kid was weird. And I don't think he meant to be. He was just different.

He had anger issues and just did things all wrong. And I think I felt sorry for him. And then I had to sit in front of him in class one day. And because of his size, he breathed so heavily that I could just feel his breath right across from the table and I HATED it. I think I can still smell his breath today. I would have to sit facing away from him so that I didn't breathe in his own breath. It was so disgusting and made me hate going to class because I feared sitting in front of him. I think I even told my parents.

And then I finally told my teacher and he was all like, "Oh. No wonder you never sit forward in your seat! I always thought that was kinda weird." He said something like that. And then he moved me to sit at another table with this girl that I semi-like, semi-disliked. She was one of those girls that had a bad attitude, stuck-up, and big-mouthed. They always complain and shout at other people for their mistakes, but when they make the same mistakes, they get an attitude when others shout at them. They never examine themselves first and that's what I hated. Because they hardly ever bothered me, I never strongly disliked them. But I still didn't really like them anyway.

But yeah, sitting with her was way better than sitting with Michael. Plus, she's nice when she's in a good mood. And funny. So I didn't mind.

And I remember Michael bought a bear for one of these girls in my class for Valentine's Day. And the girl was freaking out because she really did not like the idea of a guy like Michael, liking her. Psh, if it was me, I'd be beaming.

I wonder where Michael is now. It would be awesome if he lost all that weight and became a stud. He had nice blue eyes though. But I guess his personality and his weight just turned people off.

But yeah... Those are just memories, you know. I wish I could just go back in time and just bask in the moments when I was younger. But you can't. It sucks. You can't just go pay some money for a short time machine to bring you back to when you were 3 and used to have an obsession with Sesame Street. You can only rely on your memories. Memories slip away.
