Me and my sister lounged around on the couch watching The Karate Kid this morning. No not the 2010 Karate Kid with the cute little black kid. But the original 1984 one with the sexy white dude.
Yes, the dude that played the Karate Kid was seriously CUTE. At least in my eyes. I guess it's an acquired taste. The movie was pretty good though. Though the Karate Kid (his name is Daniel), was awkward at some times. The acting and script was pretty decent. I don't know about you, but I find myself cringing at the stuff that Disney makes these days. Especially those movies centered around high school. They do too much. [Note: I watched Lemonade Mouth just yesterday and OMG. They were obviously trying to hard to be 'original' but still ended up being cliched anyway. And sometimes, the script and plot made no sense to me.] I feel like Disney tries to force you to be emotional during a part that's really not that serious.
But enough of that. Here's that Karate Kid dude I was talking about. This dude is a freakin' old man now. That's why I hate how cute I think he is:
[This isn't a picture of him in Karate Kid so don't get any wrong ideas.] But it's so freaky how he was 22 years old in the movie but he looked barely 16 or 17. And his voice sounds young. And he's lanky and tall. But something about him was still cute. I think it's his lips. ;D Yeah. That's it. BUT this dude is pushing 50. You can't crush on a dude from the 80s because he's technically nonexistent now. This is gonna take awhile to get over.
So I went to the wedding yesterday. It was interesting. It was a traditional marriage. So what happened was that we had to fake brides. And then there's a group of girls/women dressed in beads, a wrapper, and no shoes and they lead the fake brides out as they dance. They carry the umbrella to cover the fake bride and escort her into the main room. Everyone was shocked when they realized that the first bride wasn't real. In my mind I was thinking, how are they shocked? Didn't they do the same thing back home in Nigeria? But I guess because they thought we weren't hip with tradition or whatever. So they didn't expect it. Then when the real bride came out, everyone in another uniform danced behind the bride as she was escorted out.
It was cool except I don't like dancing in front of people. So as everyone was shaking their butts around me getting dollars, I was just swinging my skirt around. -_- But whatever.
