Ugh. Most awkward three hours of my life, I have to say. But I made it through and now I'm just crossing my fingers and praying to God that things work in my favor.
I got up at 8:30 but kind of messed around a bit before I actually got ready. Well, I got up befre 8:30 and then realized my interview was at 10:30 instead of 10:00 so I laid in my bed for some minutes. Then, I got ready.
What took up most of my time was finding an outfit to wear. I was planning on wearing a blazer, white blouse, khakis, and ballet flats. 3 out of 4 isn't too bad, is it? I couldn't find the black blazer I wanted and the tan one I had was such a bad fit and would look ratchet with my khaki skinny jeans. So I went without it.
I ended up leaving the house late and missed the bus I was planning to take. So I just took the first bus coming in the direction I needed because it would've been too late if I waited for the next bus I wanted.
Well, I conveniently got off the wrong bus stop. I stopped a bit earlier than I planned but it was still in front of the University of Maryland so it wasn't too bad. Except for the humidity. It caused the dreaded pit sweat stains. I was wearing a slightly tight, see-through white blouse that I had to wear with a thick undershirt (because there was no other I could find). And it was a total mess, I guarantee it.
So when I got to the interview, I was stuttering, sweaty, and fidgety. I probably looked like a nervous mess.
But it happens so that the professor, along with her graduate students, were all dressed very chill. I felt so out of place but they made me feel comfortable even though there were a few awkward pauses. I was blabbering a lot like an idiot though. It was bad. I hope they overlook that.
I was planning on treating myself to a nice Yogiberry but found out it wasn't even freakin' opened. I just don't understand the frozen yogurt places in my area. None of them are ever opened!!!
But they made the place sound really cool. Like a chill place to do work at. It's right next to my home. And best of all, it's an afternoon internship. Meaning I have an excuse NOT to be in the tutoring committee.
Can I please just have this, God?!
